To enhance the cross-boundary facilitation measures for protecting intellectual property (IP) in Hong Kong, Hong Kong's I&T sector (including innovative entities such as enterprises, higher education institutions and research institutions) seeking patent protection on the Mainland may submit patent pre-examination requests to the Shenzhen IP Protection Center if they meet the relevant criteria! Upon passing the pre-examination, their patent applications can enter the expedited examination channel of the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA), thereby significantly shortening the period of examination!
